It’s been a long while since I’ve created a medallion piece! This one started with a star reticulum filled up with fragments from the Zentangle Primer. Love it!
Last Sunday Art Clubbers and I had a fantastic and super intense class on how to create gorgeous 3-dimensional popup flower cards. We painted the paper, cut out flowers and assembled them. The cards can be folded and sent in an envelope!
Creating a simple black and white tile is my favorite way to meditate with Zentangle. The Art Raffle app pulled out Tidings, Diva Dance, Fracas (all three Zentangle) and Ayame (Emiko Kaneko).
So excited about this next class. For many months I’ve been exploring popup cards and finally this is going to be a class.
Another update to the Art Raffle app: this time mostly string cards, but also my new tangle Voadora.
A monotangle using my new tangle Voadora, suggested by Lisa G. during Art Club feedback session. Took me so long to make all those little patterns!!!!
Yesterday Art Clubbers and I had a session using only straight lines. I also introduced a new tangle called “Voadora”.
I really enjoyed this combo of Pangea and Mrth on a Zendala, created during ZenAgain. I like it so much I went and created TWO MORE!
Last Sunday Art Clubbers and I had a super fun class on how to create these pretty Printers’ Ornaments. We worked on two projects - such fun!
Playing with Printers’ Ornaments: a rectangular headpiece in pink with gems, made with two different fine-liners. Love this!
Still playing with these Printers’ Ornaments, this time I added them to a birthday card.
This week I participated in the CZT event ZenAgain. One of the sessions channeled Leonardo Da Vinci and his wacky inventions over an opus tile.
Day 2 of ZenAgain! Lots of fun things to learn, but my favorite discovery was how much I enjoyed the tangle ING which I normally don’t use. Fun! #ZenAgain2021
I was preparing for an upcoming class on Printers Ornaments when I found a way to repurpose the beautiful Zentangle project pack envelopes. Fun idea!
This is the picture I created during the Ogee Grid class last Sunday. WHAT A FUN CLASS it was. We used so much media, gold pens, inking pens, watercolors, colored pencils, whew! Tangles are Moonpie (Zentangle), 123O’leary (Antonine Koval) and Fluxecho (Lynn Mead).
ZenAgain2021 starts in just little over a week and I’m pumped! Here is my “homework”, an embedded letter with some crazy dangling gems, don’t ask me where they came from. #ItsTimeforZenAgain2021
Another Ogee Grid piece in preparation for my class, this time in blue and orange, a favorite color combo of mine. Includes Ple-a tangle (Apple Lim) which is also part of Inktober. Does this count?
While preparing for my upcoming class on Ogee grid, I used it as a string on my daily meditation. The result is an odd illusion where you can't tell what is in front and what is behind, depending on how you look.
I had a ton of fun with these Ogee Grid pieces over Phi tan tiles inspired by historic ottoman textiles. So much detail! Tangles are Moon Pie, Fluxecho and 123 O’leary.
Still playing with Tri-Roda, this time with IX tangle. I feel like I could have gone even deeper with the shading!
Day 13 and 24 of Inktober Tangles include Spynes and Zigoli. My daily meditation also include some funky pedestals and the usual flowing ribbons.
My goal is to always explore different ways to approach tangles, enhancers and strings. Today I played with more Fengle (Zentangle), using different ways to connect and 3-dimensionalize.
Day 10 of Inktober calls for Hirari (Midori Furuhashi). I dressed it up with colored pencils and brown ink over tan tile.
A couple of blossom tangles over tan paper. Lots of painting and treatment over this one! Super fun.

A new update of the Art Raffle, now with the option of a GUIDED mode (only string and tangles). Also, featuring Jody Genovese's incredibly elegant and meditative tangles.
I think classic Zentangle is my favorite of all techniques. Black and white! Dewd, W2, Hibred, Ravel and Indy-rella.
On Sunday I had a get together with a group of new tanglers, all Brazilian family and friends. Was such fun to do classic Zentangle using the Art Raffle app.

Last week our focus tangle for the Shading Zentangle® Facebook group was Sindoo, a tangle deconstructed by Sharon Robinson here. Although I'm not really much into grid patterns, I really liked this one, and combined it with ANOTHER one of my favorite grid patterns, Hypnotic.
I've had this tile sitting around, incomplete, for what seems to be a year. Now I finally finished it!
Zen Gems are awesome, but I do love the REAL sparklies. I have a wonderful friend who works at John F. Allen, a wholesale supplier of Preciosa and Swarovski rhinestones.
Ever since I knew that Zentangle.com was selling gray Koi Brush Markers to CZTs as an alternative to the gray Fabrico Markers, I knew I had to try that brand. They wouldn't have started carrying it if they weren't worth it!
