Baton and friends

Last week I was searching all over the place to find the name of a woven tangle which was so fun and relaxing to create. Some said it was Shattuck, others said Ragz. I finally settled for Baton, deconstructed by Carole Ohl, because I constructed it the same way.

I created two more tiles using Baton and some other tangles.

1) Baton, Schiefer and Strata

(In case you're wondering about the super dark and uncharacteristic signature, it's just a bit of ink mess I made while inking the edge. Nothing like dark ink to make paint splatters go away!)

2) Baton, Pufcookie, Narwal and Sez

I'm getting into the habit of adding some "Zen Thoughts" to my tiles. This is especially useful if I'm having a bad hair day and need some affirmation. This tile is a bit on the dark side, and I think the tile reflects that feeling. Aesthetically speaking, I'm really don't care for it much, but I like that the tile reminds me of thoughts and events that are now part of the past. I also found immense calm and relief creating it, painstakingly inking between the letters. I love that Zentangle can do that for me, even when the tile results are not.... exactly pleasing! :-)

Lesson learned: when you're having a bad hair day, your tiles reflect that!
