Vines and Berries
Having a lot of fun with these vines and berries, inspired by historic engravings. At first, I started by extracting some of the scrollwork in my drawings (you can see a little of it in the lower left corner of the picture above).
After that, I played with it in Procreate, using mirrored symmetry to create this super ultra cool frame design. Here you can see a photo print of the digital piece:
I couldn't stop, I continued playing with the same elements in a random way using traditional paper and pen and WOW!!!! Look at this!!! Am loving that so much.
Once I got the hang of the essential scroll and how to make it dimensional (almost Mooka3D-ish, no wonder I love it so much), I added some Bronx Cheer berries, Icanthis (both Zentangle) and a little bit of Icantoo (Hanny Waldburger). Here's a before and after shading:
Most definitely is going to become my next class!
Feel free to pin or share these pictures if you like.
Last Friday Art Clubbers and I had a the second part of the Vines and Berries project where we covered detailed and ultra-dimensional shading.
