Shading Black Tiles Lesson
Today Art Clubbers and I had fantastic time learning how to tangle 3-dimensionally over black tiles. This is not an easy technique and requires a completely different mindset to get right. We started by exploring the different width pens available in white:
We jumped right in an started tangling Gourdgeous (Zentangle) and shading it dimensionally with colored pencils.
We created a second Gourdgeous, this time shaded with pencils and markers.
We added Printemps and Courant (both Zentangle), and learned different techniques on how to shade those two tangles.
Finally, we finished the class with some hatched ribbons and some glow around everything, created with charcoal pencil.
It was a super intense class, and not an easy one. As usual, we had a packed class.
And also as usual, this class will be available to Clubbers who couldn’t participate as a video recording. Fee free to pin or share these pictures.
Two more over black tiles, this time using Echoism and some basic concepts from Project Pack 11.
