Radial Blossoms Part 2 Class
Today Art Clubbers and I had a super fun live class on Zoom! We worked on a continuation of the Radial Blossoms class (a lesson posted originally in 2017). This is continuation of that class, with a whole 2:30 hours on how to apply invented blossoms in a tile.
We started by reviewing the concept of Radial Blossoms, which are essentially invented flowers and stars using a combination of two or more tangles.
We started the project by using a “Blossoms string”. Three or more large orbs to house traditional blossoms (or invented ones).
To create the Radial Blossoms, we use an 8-sided die to select from cards containing 8 pre-selected tangles.
Our first selection was the tangle Harp (Jan Brandt), which we used to form the structure of the first Radial Blossom.
After filling up the first Blossom with other tangles, we used LunarFlux (since this is the first tangle of Inktober Tangles 2021) to start forming the second invented Radial Blossom.
After a lot more tangling and adding MoonPie (Zentangle), the second Blossom was added.
We continued to add a third Blossom, add shading and more details.
We complemented the design with some vine tangles including Hollis, Ynix, Enyshou and also Printemps (all of them Zentangle).
Look at this, it's crazy!!!!
We had about 78 people in the session, here are some of their beautiful drawings!
Here is a close-up of the final picture created in class. I'm SO happy with it!
Fee free to pin or share these pictures.
Another daily meditation with the Art Raffle app gave me Tufton (Jodi Christiansen), Stacked Mooka, Munchin and Wyfore (all Zentangle), and I added Mysealiam and Icanthis.
