Last week was drawing with some friends - I asked one of them to pick the tangles we would play with and she said - anything with a butterfly! We also used Purk, Bunzo, Eofer (Iris Heidt), Clob (Jem Miller). Super swirly!
Read MoreToday Art Clubbers and I had Part 1 of the super advanced Bucky and Friends class. We used Wyforwings, Bucky Fragment, Ratoon, also Patakon (OsBurSan) and Pickpocket (Tomas Padros). In Part 2 we'll cover more tangling, embellishing and shading!
Read MoreAlways fascinating to see what the Art Raffle daily meditation is going to inspire. In this one I used a particularly complex string, which is hard to work with because it lacks fluidity. Still, was super fun and I love what happened with the ribbons there, Snap!
Read MoreI am always surprised at what comes out of my pen when drawing intuitive art. I don't think this classifies as Zentangle, but it was drawn in the same intuitive and unplanned manner, other than wanting to use a couple of fragments I had drawn on my recipe cards.
Read MoreMany times I sketch little things on cards, fragments and pieces of drawings. I enjoyed the previous Squid over Triradial that I repeated it again, this time using a fragment from one of my sketch cards.
Read MoreAn Art Raffle session a few days ago gave me a Triradial string that I enjoyed very much adding Squid, Ennies, and also Zello. Very light and airy!
Read MoreThis morning I attended a Zentangle session with one of my favorite teachers (and a good friend too), Nancy Domnauer. I love how Nancy stays true to the classic Zentangle method. In her selection of tangles, she brought Zghetti (Nancy Garcia), MI2 (Mimi Lempart), Diva Dance Rock n Roll and Beelight (both by Zentangle).
Read MoreTwo Art Raffle tiles using tangle as a string. The first one used Ziraffe (Carla Jooren) and the second one Nacho (Carol Kis). They turned out quite dark, for some reason!
Read MoreYesterday Art Clubbers and I had a super important class that I am calling “Zentangle MatchMaking”. This class, which will probably become a series, works on answering the questions about how to combine tangles and string when using classic random Zentangle during your own art practice.
Read MoreA couple of weeks ago I participated in a lovely class with Yvonne Westover, where she showed us her fragment Avro. Here I combined it with Jody Genovese's What the Well. Whew, this was tricky! What was I thinking! :-)
Read MoreAn Art Raffle session with friends gave me these cards: Amoeba string, Hamsix (Alena Light), Bunzo (Zentangle), A-Frame (Angie Gittles), Eofer (Iris Hedit) and the Fishroe Enhancer (Eni Oken). Fun!
Read MoreYesterday Art Clubbers and I worked on a new class using the beautiful and elegant Triplellation tangle (Debbie Huntington). Although it was an incredibly TRICKY class, I feel that tessellated tangles are calling my name lately.
Read MoreIs there such a thing as too much embellishment in Zentangle? In this version of Azura (Theresa Fessler), I think I answered the question. Perhaps a bit too much!!!
Read MoreAnother daily meditation with the Art Raffle app gave me Tufton (Jodi Christiansen), Stacked Mooka, Munchin and Wyfore (all Zentangle), and I added Mysealiam and Icanthis.
Read MoreI'm tangling so much I hardly have time to post pictures online. Here you see two tiles I created last week: one under the wonderful instruction of Amy Broady showing us how to use her Nofomo tangle, and the other one showing a Zendala with a Celtic Dara Knot.
Read MoreA Zendala made with Well My Way (Carla Jooren) and Algae (Kathrin Burmeister). I’m also very happy to say that I finally completed my two year certificate in World Art History through the Smithsonian. A long journey and it has definitely influence my art more than I think.
Read MoreAnother daily meditation with the Art Raffle app, this time with some friends online. I got a Loop String, Garlic Cloves (Jacquelien Bredenoord), Dotted Auras, Mooka Feather (Eni Oken), Paradisum (OsBurSan) and Hurry (Zentangle).
Read MoreDaily meditation using the Art Raffle app. Normally I pull out a whole bunch of cards and rearrange them. Not today, I needed to do something completely unexpected and unplanned. Not my favorite tile, for sure, but very soothing, exactly what I needed today. Of note are Tabs (Tomas Padros) and Clob (Jem Miller) and other tangles.
Read MoreToday Art Clubbers and I had Part 1 of the gorgeous Pokeroot Tagh Zendala class. We worked on the line-art of this ZIA Zendala using Pokeroot Mashup, spherical Tagh and Speedwayz (Carla Jooren). In Part 2 we’ll embellish and work on shading!
Read MoreInspired by the combination of Tagh (Zentangle) and Pokeroot Mashup, I made this Zendala including a Seedwayz border (Carla Jooren). I love this!
