Toodles Toobs

Daily meditation with the Art Raffle gave me “create your own string", which is a particularly difficult string to work with. Tangles were: Toodles, Isochor and Fife (all Zentangle), plus Toobs (Angie Gittles) and Joki (Kim Aarts). Here's a stepout:

The “create your own string” is tricky because it creates a complex string without any logical structure, and the results tend to be a bit messy or disorganized. Still, I used my “macandcheese” hatched ribbons and that gave me a little clarity.

What’s happening there, one of the ribbons snapped!!! Always fascinating to see what my pen is going to produce under the intuitive guidance of Zentangle. Here’s another view:

Last Thursday Art Clubbers and I worked on Part 1 of the lovely Tree of Life ZIA project. We created the line-art for the tree branches, leaves and flowers. In Part 2 we'll work on the frame, background and shading.

I think we are all a little in love with Tomàs Padro's new tangle Medusa. Here I'm posting two simple tiles where I explored the shading and different ways to construct the underlying ogee grid. I suspect Medusa is going to appear more in my work very soon!

I had a blast making these two pieces combining Wartz (Genevieve Crabe) with Sinkhole and Spherify! The Art Raffle gave me this difficult combination, but it was a fun experiment and I'm super happy with it.

Last week Art Clubbers and I had a Tangle Play session including Wyfore - where we explore tangles and make index cards - and I decided to combine it with Drawings over a triangular string. Very fun to play with!
