Pokeroot Tagh Zendala Part 1 Class

Today Art Clubbers and I had Part 1 of the gorgeous Pokeroot Tagh Zendala class. I started the class showing how to create the 3D version of Pokeroot which is a mashup of Pokeroot, Jetties and Gourdgeous (all Zentangle tangles).

We added a field of Pokeroot mashup to the Zendala using various points of view above and below the horizon.

I also covered how to create a spherical Tagh. Here’s one of my sample tiles:

Next we added the spherical tag to the picture:

We also completed the frame using Seedwayz (Carla Jooren), a beautiful tangle that I’m in love with.

In Part 2, we’ll complete the shading. This is what the Clubbers did!

Last Thursday Art Clubbers and I worked on Part 1 of the lovely Tree of Life ZIA project. We created the line-art for the tree branches, leaves and flowers. In Part 2 we'll work on the frame, background and shading.

I think we are all a little in love with Tomàs Padro's new tangle Medusa. Here I'm posting two simple tiles where I explored the shading and different ways to construct the underlying ogee grid. I suspect Medusa is going to appear more in my work very soon!

I had a blast making these two pieces combining Wartz (Genevieve Crabe) with Sinkhole and Spherify! The Art Raffle gave me this difficult combination, but it was a fun experiment and I'm super happy with it.

Last week Art Clubbers and I had a Tangle Play session including Wyfore - where we explore tangles and make index cards - and I decided to combine it with Drawings over a triangular string. Very fun to play with!
