Woven Tangles Part 3
Last Friday Art Clubbers and I finished the Woven tangles series. We worked on a colorful version of Nubia (Oswaldo Burbano Sandoval), with embellished ribbons over watercolor pencil base.
We started by developing a distorted version of Nubia — super fun to do over hotpressed watercolor paper.
Next, we went into detailed technique of how to create a gradient leaving the center highlight intact using watercolor pencils blended with a water brush.
After painting the background, we embellished the ribbons.
And finally, we completed the shading using regular colored pencils.
Here's a close-up for you to inspect:
Super fun session! Feel free to share or pin these pictures.
