Nubia Tangle over Watercolor
Yesterday I discovered the tangle Nubia, (Os BurSan handle on facebook), and after a little while, figured out a slightly different way of making this super fun woven tangle happen. Here’s a step-out for you to follow:
I created a curved version on my iPad using Procreate, and I love how the grid curves and hugs the square.
After creating this digital version, I just needed to try it on real paper:
I created the triangular background with watercolors over hotpressed paper (4x4 inches).
The shading and coloring was done using regular colored pencils. I also used an older Micron 01 inking pen to create the super hair-thin lines from the main mass to the splatter bubbles. Here’s a close-up for you to inspect:
This technique is very similar to the one explained in my lesson Tangled Terrarium.
Here’s a picture for you to pin or share if you like:
Found myself with just a pencil and took the opportunity to play with luminous lighting and shading over Nubia (OsBurSan) and Printemps.
