Tangled Brooch Lesson
Last Friday members of my Art Club and I worked on a super fun project, creating a brooch setting. I started by showing the various different options — the same setting can be used around a gem or gold nugget, it's just a matter of changing the color scheme.
We covered composition and how to work on a strong diagonal line.
After deciding on a design and discussing materials, we worked an asymmetrical bezel around the stone, using Tipple (Zentangle) and pearls.
We also discussed how to divide the design into parts to form the design and how to choose appropriate tangles. In this design you can see Mooka, Ynix, and Doodah (all Zentangle).
And finally, I showed participants how to create a super dramatic background using markers, watercolors and pencils.
There were about 60 something participants, and 3 hours just flew by, such Zen flow to be had! So much fun.
Feel free to pin or share these pictures if you like.
What a great class that was — we had so much fun learning how to design and tangle Brooches.
