Sleeping Man Digital Collage
You may not know this, but many many moons ago I was a 3D computer graphics artist. In fact, I started my artistic career as a digital artist, working with 3D Studio and video games and came back to analog tools much later in life.
Every once in a while I love going back to digital work and I use Procreate on my iPad quite a bit. Last month during the holidays I started to create digital collages: taking parts of my inked art and creating these crazy collages using Procreate on my ipad. Here is a short clip of this first one I called “Sleeping Man”.
What I love about this process is that it still very challenging, requires quite a bit of shading and completing of the pieces, so it can be very meditative and unexpected — especially the mirroring part! Fascinating! Additionally, I can use pieces of art that was never really finished to manipulate and fill in the empty spots.
Here is a close-up of one of the pieces used in the digital collage:
Below you can see how it was mirrored and manipulated:
Do you see the Sleeping man?
Below you can see how more elements were added to it:
An a considerable amount of shading was added in Procreate using charcoal and pancil brushes:

Daily meditation with the Art Raffle including Mirrored String, MI2 (Mimi Lempart), Copada (Margaret Bremner) and more. I colorized the line-art digitally with Procreate, and I'm pretty happy with what happened here.
