Floo-ish and Mooka3D Lesson
Last week Art Clubbers and I had a very nice and lovely live class on Zoom on how to create, tangle and shade Floo-ish and Mooka3D.
Floo-ish is a tangle introduced by Martha in the Zentangle Pack #10 (watch the video here). Martha based this tangle on the tangle Floo, but it looks more like Mooka to me, so I thought it a great opportunity to explore both.
I started the session by exploring the different variations of Mooka and how to draw it with lots of good practice.
We practiced Floo-ish in detail, showing different ways to approach the Echolines on each side of the basic shell.
We also saw some fun variations on Floo-ish.
We even explored a fun little tango (when two tangles go out to dance together) between Floo-ish and Squid (both Zentangle). Looks like a fun marine creature!
Next, we started our project using a Two Thirds String, a very simple and fun to use string which divides the area of the tile into two sections.
Next we worked on the line-art, covering in detail how to create Floo-ish as a filler, and the differences between Mooka3D and Floo-ish.
Finally, we covered detailed instructions of how to add 4 levels of shading to create beautiful 3-dimensional effects.
We had a solid class of 70 people, and it lasted 2:30 hours. Look at that beautiful work and those smiling faces! Was a super fun session.
Of course a recording is available for the Clubbers who couldn't participate. Eventually this lesson will be available for purchase individually.
