Zentwining Trinity
Once a month I must go through a cancer-related treatment. While the treatment itself is not bothersome, the side effects can last for 2 to 7 days, making me feel like I have the flu. On those days, I try to do things that I can do from bed, such as organizing my tangle catalogue or drawing on my iPad, or just sleeping through it. This month, inspired by Marguerite Samama's Valentangle 2020, I drew Trinity tangle (Stephanie Kiefhaber).
Trinity is an interesting blossom-type tangle inspired by the classic Celtic Trinity knot. Stephanie developed a very cool way to create Trinity without using any pencil guidelines. I started by exploring and practicing the tangle loosely on my iPad, I was especially intrigued at how this tangle allows to form organic and loose versions.
I didn't feel too inspired by the loose versions, and still feeling a little under the weather, decided to go back to one of my favorite techniques, Zentwining (Lynn Mead's concept of wrapping ribbons). It started very gradually and suddenly it started growing and becoming more complex.
Wow! I LOVE how 3D it turned out! Got some super great hours of Zen flow, the time passed very quickly. My favorite part is the little heart — who knew something so tiny could attract such attention! It's the power of contrast and emphasis, LOVE IT. Here's a close-up of the picture after printed on my photo printer, measures 4x6 inches.

More abstract work over watercolor paper. I used Bilt (Lisa Skeen), African Artist (Tina Hunziker) and Zentwining (Lynn Mead). I’m really enjoying the tangle Bilt - reminds me a bit of Betweed, but in a different way.
