Zarillon, Phossil and Crazy Assunta
Last Thursday Art Clubbers and I had the last live session of 2022. We had a "Tangle Play” session, where we explore tangles, build step-outs for our catalog and tangle index. This is new thing at the Art Club, we only started this a couple of months ago, and now it has become one of my favorite types of sessions ever.
The idea is to expand our repertoire. Last week we explored Ariane Bauer's new tangle Zarillon and also dabbled a little with a “crazy version” of Assunta (Zentangle). I decided to include those two in a new raffle in my daily meditation. Here is the raffle card for this tile (Zarillon not included here but soon will be available in the Art Raffle).
Other tangles include: Dillo-tant (Lisa Goldman) and my own Phossil. Here's the before and after shading:

The beautifully poetic class Duotone Tangling is now available in video format for individual purchase. This video class includes how to use a “landscape string” and how to create contrast using two inking pens of different colors. It also shows how to use grafting and how to organicize tangles to make them resemble plants.
