La Lune Tarot String
I’ve had this idea for a long time: to use a Tarot card as a string. This ZIA is based on card XVIII La Lune (the Moon) from the Tarot of Marseilles. It was a bit of a challenge to try to replace the symbols of the Tarot card with non-representational tangles.
I used the Art Raffle to select the tangles, it gave me: Squid, Tagh, Verdigogh and Mysealiam (all Zentangle), also Medusa (Tomas Padros) and Fancy Caps and Phossil (my own).
Was a fun challenge adapting the tangles to the Tarot card string! I might try this again.

I’m still enjoying making these mini needlepoints, I might use them as patches to embellish purses or totes. I’m finding the similarities with Zentangle fascinating: repetitive patterns, intuitive and meditative method (in this type of counted design), small size canvas, portability and unexpected results. Fun!
