Tangle-a-day Crescent Moon
New year, new decade. Whew, I have mixed feelings of leaving the old decade behind. So many good things happened, and so many lousy ones too. Nothing like starting fresh, like a brand new child.
This year I was selected as guest artist to show my work in Carole Ohl's “Tangle-a-Day” calendar, published by the excellent Braughler Books (get the calendar here). This is an 8x5 inches landscape-format calendar, and it comes full of my pictures to inspire you to draw in each of the slots.
The bulk of the calendar is made of empty numbered squares which you can fill up in any way you like. I plan to “tangle outside the box” instead of inside them, leaving the interior to glue a bijou or write daily affirmations. This is my first one, using Crescent Moon! Can't wait to see how the entire page will look with all three slots filled in.
I used graphite pencil to shade the tangled portion and watercolor pencil to add the blue background.
Aside from having all these empty slots for you to draw, the calendar also has tons of of my pictures such as these for to be inspired:
So excited about this project! You can get the calendar here, directly at Braughler books.
Happy New Year to you and I hope you plan to stay creative!
Now that the Zentangle MatchMaking series is over in the Art Club, we started a new series, focusing on Tangle Combos. This is the second session of the series, and since it's the beginning of the year, nothing more appropriate than using the classic 4 tangles used for a Back to Basics: Crescent Moon, Holibaugh, Printemps and Bales.
