And.... one more Phossil with Bownus

I cannot help myself. I just love this tangle Phossil. It's got a rhythm to it that is so pleasing! Here I combined it with Angie Gittle's Bownus (a lovely tangle). Here's the before and after shading:

I also added a little cornucopia stick and Crescent Moon (Zentangle) with fancy borders and cuffs. Here's a another view for you to inspect:

Happy New Year! I’ve been MIA for the holidays, lots of things to do with a house guest. Barely had any time to tangle or draw and nothing seemed to work. So I took a couple of unfinished tiles from long ago and completed them with some easy (almost) black and white tangling.

The beautifully poetic class Duotone Tangling is now available in video format for individual purchase. This video class includes how to use a “landscape string” and how to create contrast using two inking pens of different colors. It also shows how to use grafting and how to organicize tangles to make them resemble plants.

Yesterday I had a wonderful class with the Clubbers called Duotone Tangling, where we created art using two different pens, black and another color. We included grafting, foreshortening, organicize and some other fun enhancers. Tangles were: Dillo-tant (L. Goldman), Tipple, Bales, and an organicized version of Moonpie. In this post you can also see the pop-up card I made with similar language and visuals.

I’ve had this idea for a long time: to use a Tarot card as a string. This one is based on card XVIII La Lune (the Moon) from the Tarot of Marseilles. It was a bit of a challenge to try to replace the symbols of the Tarot card with non-representational tangles, I must try this again.
