Inktober Tangles 2023 Day 3 and 4
Day 3 and 4 of Inktober Tangles: the tangles Caro (Lucy Farran) and Sunbelt (Jody Genovese).
I continue Art Club’s mini challenge and create a study for each tangle, based on the class Zentangle MatchMaking.
Caro is especially bitter sweet as it was made in memory of Caroline McNamara, who tragically passed away in 2020, and was such a gentle soul in the Zentangle world. I had the honor of meeting her a few years ago and was shocked at her passing.
Sunbelt reminds us a little of Kangular (Tomas Padros) as Jody explains in her step-out. I did not dare play with the Sunbelt variation which made my head hurt :-D
Here’s another picture of Caro.
I still don’t know if I'll be able to keep up - it takes quite a while to make these studies! But I'll keep trying.
Feel free to pin or share these images.

Here’s another piece from the Zentangle MatchMaking class that I started with the Art Clubbers. This series includes Meer, Fife and Verve tangles over a combo Z-string and Square Medallion. I LOVE the movement caused by Verve!
Yet another session of Zentangle MatchMaking series. We covered the importance of working in a series and explored a method on how to work from a previous tile, using Meer, Fife, Verve tangles. This series is exclusively available for members of my Art Club.
Another session of Zentangle MatchMaking series. We explored a great deal of pattern structure theory which can help tanglers to create better compositions during classic Zentangle sesssions. Meer, Fife and Verve were the tangles used in our session. This series is exclusively available for members of my Art Club.
On Tuesday I had another session of Zentangle MatchMaking with my small private group, where we explored Nayu (Emiko Kaneko) and Bilt (Lisa Skeen). Super fun tangles!
I continue the Art Club’s challenge for Inktober Tangles. Day 5! Will I be able to hang in there any longer? I had an especially good time with Nayu (Emiko Kaneko), the fragment reminding me a little of Ratoon. Very lovely tangle!
Another study for Inktober Tangles 2023: Day 3 is Caro (Lucy Farran) and Day 4 is Sunbelt (Jody Genovese). Sunbelt reminds me of Kangular, but it’s fun to put it in a ribbon. I did not dare make the Sunbelt variation… The only question now is: how long can I make it during this month? Will this last? :-)
Inktober is here and at my Art Club we have a mini challenge to create studies with fragments of each tangle, increasing our visual libraries. Here's my offering for Day 1 and 2 #inktobertangles2023 Beelight and FlameFlower (Deb Bowyer).
More tiles exploring the tangle Rumpus. This one has a string that is inspired on a necklace, suggested by a friend. I love the elegance of these (almost) monotangles.
The second session of Zentangle MatchMaking series, were we explored a practical tool to help tanglers with classic Zentangle composition, and applied it on the tangle Rumpus. This series is exclusively available for members of my Art Club.
Finally available to the public, this is probably one of my most important classes regarding how to create your own work with intuitive classic Zentangle. It has a whooping 10 hours of recorded videos, and covers a TON of material on how to deal with the biggest question of all: how to combine tangles with strings (and make it your own). You can learn a lot more about it at https://enioken.teachable.com/p/zentanglematchmaking
