Green Terrarium
I’m still playing with idea of a Tangled Terrarium, a small encapsulated tangled environment colorized with watercolors and colored pencils. I love how dense these are, so packed in with tangles in every corner.
In retrospect, I can see now this is very influenced by @arsenika.zen, gorgeous work, visit her instagram page at https://www.instagram.com/arsenika.zen/
I’m pretty positive that this will be the topic of my next lesson, it’s a nice sequence for the recent colorful Elegan lesson. I started this one with a watercolor background wash using Ecoline watercolors, then tangled and shaded with colored pencils over hotpressed watercolor paper. You can see the progress in this little step-out:
I also love how wild the whole thing looks, the tangles look very botanical and floral. Here’s a close-up for you to inspect:
Tangles used in this one were: Oke (Michele Beauchamp), Hurry (Zentangle), Sheleaf (Yu Ru Chen), Chainlea (Norma Burnell), Crazy Huggins and Poke Leaf (both Zentangle).
A terrarium is a small glass container with a miniature garden, artfully composed. Here's my tangled version!
