Crazy Huggins Again
Revisiting classes with my private group: last Tuesday we played with Crazy Huggins. I had forgotten how much FUN this class is and how impressive it is to see the tangle become so 3-dimensional with shading. Here's a screenshot halway through the line-art:
Here is the line-art ready with a bit of shading:
Here is a close-up of the artwork after shading. Love how that tangle really pops forward from the paper. Other tangles used were Quabog, Squid, Fescu, Shattuck (all Zentangle).
Here's their mosaic:

The first live session of the year: Art Clubbers had a special "back to basics”, using tangleations of what we learned in 2022 at Art Club. I'm always amazed at the things that can be done with the simple Z string and the four essential 101 tangles.
Last week I taught a Zentangle basic in Portuguese. Even though I have done the basic ZT class so many times, it never ceases to amaze me how each tile is so unique.
Last Thursday Art Clubbers and I had the last phase of my Advanced Tangle Transitions class. Super fun strategy on how to work the boundaries of a string, using bridge and transitional elements.
The last phase of my Advanced Tangle Transitions class with the Art Clubbers, and I find this stage a little tricky. To ease it off a little, I selected a Zentangle 101 tile, and that's probably what we'll do in class.
Daily meditation with the Art Raffle including Mirrored String, MI2 (Mimi Lempart), Copada (Margaret Bremner) and more. I colorized the line-art digitally with Procreate, and I'm pretty happy with what happened here.
Two more digital collages that I created during the holidays using Procreate app. Weird!!!
This is the Sleeping Man, the first of a series of digital collages I made during the holidays using Procreate on my iPad.
During the last class of the year, Art Clubbers and I had a “Back to Basics” class and a short recap of all the projects we did in 2021.
Another black and white tile for my daily meditation, this time with a ton of tangles pulled from the Art Raffle.
Another "Back to Basics” tile with a Z-string, Hollibaugh, Crescent Moon, Printemps and Bales. This one reminds me of a day I spent on the beach with a friend!
