Circus Banners Lesson
On Friday I had a tremendously fun session with Art Club members on how to create Circus Themed pictures. What a super cool session it was!
We started the session understanding the structure of the piece, and how to create a mirrored string over tan tile.
We also explored how to create flowing banners for the picture:
The line-art was all mirrored, using a modified versions of tangle Zenith and Hollibaugh (both Zentangle), gems and banners.
The line-art was completed with Footlites (Carole Ohl) and Knase (Zentangle).
Next started the coloring phase, we used pens, markers, colored pencils, and more.
The final touch was to add gems and shading using colored pencils.
Here you can see both the sample and the final picture which I completed after the class was over.
The class had 85 participants and lasted over 3 hours. Time just flew by so quickly, look at all those smiles!
Feel free to pin or share these pictures if you like!
As usual, all my online live classes are available for all Art Clubbers. Video recordings are made available for those who cannot participate. Learn more here
Another picture with tangle Amplion (Nina Dreher-Goddertz). I also included a historic fragment taken from Herbert Cole’s Heraldry and Floral forms (1922, found on archive dot org). It's a beautiful design of a 15th century French coffer. Tangled and shaded using Inktense pencils and Pitt Brush pens with a waterbrush.
