Bijou Raffle on Elegant Lines Live Online Session

Today the Art Clubbers and I had a live online session on Zoom (online live sessions are entirely free for Clubbers). This is the first time that I mix the Bijou Raffle lesson with a second lesson — Elegant Lines. 28 participants showed up and it was great! Clubbers who couldn't attend get exclusive access to a recording of the session posted later.

We started the session by creating some new Bijou Cards, extracting them from the Elegant Lines lesson. Here are some of the ones we created, plus a few more that I added later:

We discussed how to convert regular enhancers into unique enhancers — for example, instead of adding just “sparkles”, the card prompts you to create multiple sparkles on the tangle.

Next we pulled out a few cards from the Bijou Raffle and started to work on an actual tile. These are the cards that I selected from the raffle:

I showed the Clubbers how work some of the concepts of the Elegant lines into the tile, and we completed half of the tile's line-art.

I also showed the Clubbers how to create a really neat shading technique which does not require the use of fixed light source (and therefore more in line with the Zentangle method).

And finally we had some of the participants show their work — they completed half a tile, with enough room to add their own creativity based on the raffle selections.

Overall a wonderful experience — the session lasted a little bit over an hour. All the pictures shown here are being displayed with their owner's permission, of course.

This online session was entirely free for Art Clubbers and those who could not attend have access to a recording posted in the Art Club hub materials.
