Twisted Zendala Part 1 Class

Yesterday Art Clubbers and I started a new project, this gorgeous Zendala inspired by a Georgian Revival Architecture church in Charlottetown. I started class by showing the inspiration for the Zendala.

We worked for quite some time to develop the complex overlapping string:

The Zendala includes Twisted Rope (Eni Oken), Icantoo (Hanny Nura) and Fancy Zander (Eni Oken’s tangleation of Zentangle’s Zander).

We also designed a little floral motif to be included in the Zendala.

This is what the Clubbers did! This is only Part 1. Next week we’ll continue to work on the Zendala.

I wrapped a triquetra (a three pointed knot) with Umble (aka Zentwining). Such a fun video class is coming next to the Art Clubbers.

Last Wednesday I took a super fun class with Nancy Domnauer on Dressing up Ixorus. Had such fun with this Zendala!

This is Jenice Kee's Jeweled Garden, part of Zentangle Beyond Language event. Halfway through, silly me decided to add a hatched ribbon, leaving no room for the other tangles! I like the result anyway, THANK YOU Jenice for a fantastic project.

I taught this Flower Zendala for the third time last Tuesday to my private group. I think this is the last one for a while! Love the color combo with pink and black.
