Souvenir Sampler from Tampa Theatre
I love samplers, so I spent a lovely morning on a Virtual Tour to the amazing Tampa Theatre extracting fragments of that exquisite site, to form this Souvenir Sampler:
To create this simpler, I cut pieces of hotpressed watercolor paper first. Some I cut using a scalloped punch, others I cut normally and rounded the corners. Then, I painted each one with a colorful watercolor wash.
Next, I went on a virtual tour, all the way from Los Angeles to Tampa, Florida, and walked around the inside of the Tampa Theatre. These fragments were extracted from the lobby alone — I am going back and perusing the rest of that beautiful landmark. I used inking pens and colored pencils (watercolor and regular) to add the coloring.
I added all the pieces to a distressed tan background and it fits perfectly into this mini 4x4inches instagram album I got last week!

Just because you're at home, it's not an excuse not to have a virtual adventure to collect souvenir fragments along the way. Souvenir Samplers lesson now available to the public!
