Seven Tangles
After the severely dysfunctional tile created using ballpoint pen (biro), I needed to catch my Zen Magic moment again. I've been having fun with a thick italic calligraphy pen.
Interesting thing is that, in those two techniques in the previous tile, the ballpoint clearly produced the more beautiful results by all accounts. And yet... I really disliked the process of shading with it. The calligraphy pen, on the other hand, makes me want to sing inside. I guess I'm an "ink" kind of gal.
The wand chooses the wizard, Mr. Potter.
-Ollivander (character in Harry Potter).
Just to make things more interesting, I used a very complex string, with the firm intent of using 6 or more different tangles.
The tangles used were: Hamail (Tina Hunziker), Onion Drop (Shasta Garcia), Echoism (Zentangle), Sand Swirl (Karry Heun), Soluna (Pegi Schargel), Ta-Da (Margaret McKerihan), Tidal (Zentangle) and Tri-bee (Beate Winkler). Whew!
If you are wondering how I picked these tangles -- I used a very scientific method: opened my tangle index at random and added the first tangle I set eyes on! Now seriously, there is a method to the madness, especially when it comes to selecting the placement.
The shading has a hint of distress inks (I'm slowly weaning off of it) and pencil.
