Rozhki and Romanancy
The 20th day of Zenuari (a Zentangle event held by Anoeska Waardenburg calls to use the tangle Rozhki, deconstructed by Ludmila Katz, a wonderfully talented tangler and also an avid participant of my Art Club.
I started to play with this tangle and have to confess that I’m quite addicted. It’s a mix between Printemps, Hollibaugh and Betweed, and VERY fun to work with, capable of producing lovely deep 3-dimensional shading. Here’s a before and after shading of this monotangle:
This was the topic of our last class, and it was really fun to explore a few different ways to work this tangle.
Feel free to pin or share these pictures!
I am always surprised at what comes out of my pen when drawing intuitive art. I don't think this classifies as Zentangle, but it was drawn in the same intuitive and unplanned manner, other than wanting to use a couple of fragments I had drawn on my recipe cards.
Yesterday I taught a much awaited class on how to create these Fancy Caps. It was a long class, where we learned about gems, how to draw the fancy caps and developed this lovely ZIA project.
Yesterday Art Clubbers and I worked on an advanced project including Phossil, producing this lovely landscape-looking piece. I think this is finally the last chapter of Phossil for me, for a while at least.
Last Thursday Art Clubbers and I completed Part 2 of the Crazy Zander Infographics class, so of course I had to mix it up with Phossil. I included Opus, Vega, Zander (all Zentangle) and more.
Last week Art Clubbers and I had Part 1 of the class Crazy Zander Infographics, where we explored the imaginary evolution of Zander into Crazy Zander (a tangleation by Maria Thomas).
I’m not tired of Phossil yet, I suspect there are a few more of these coming out of my pen. Here is Fossil, Vega, Zander and Opus (Zentangle).
These Zentangle tiles must be magic, whenever I feel there is no more room for anything else, somehow they manage to get more and more. Sheesh! Tangles are Phossil, Zentwining (Lynn Mead), a marine version of Mooka with some Fancy Caps and Opus.
This one had a “less loved” start with Zenith and sat on my desk for a long time. Suddenly the thing just came to life with Phossil, Zentwining and some Fancy Caps! Now it's one of my favorites. Just to show, don't give up on your less loved tiles.
Daily meditation included Purk, Spention (Emily Houtz), Mysealiam, Nik (Bunny Wright) and more. A very interesting result, strange, but I like it. Makes me wonder, what's happening here? Is someone entering or leaving?
A few weeks ago one my friends suggested a “skyline” string over a mass of water. I used mooka3d, Alfie (Angie Gittles), Nik (Bunny Wright) and Dillo-tant (Lisa Goldman). I wonder if the buildings are emerging or submerging? :-)
