Kensington Raffle in Brown
A couple of weeks ago I played an Art Raffle with friends, and I decided to explore it in brown over a 4x6” watercolor paper, shading with inktense pencils. Tangles are Kensington (Anoeska Waardenburg), Kamala (Kamala Looi), Y-knot (HyunJu Park), Sand Swirl (Karry Heun), Spangle (Mimi Lempart), also Printemps and Msst (Zentangle).
Here’s a before and after shading. Can you find Y-knot? :-)

I’m still enjoying making these mini needlepoints, I might use them as patches to embellish purses or totes. I’m finding the similarities with Zentangle fascinating: repetitive patterns, intuitive and meditative method (in this type of counted design), small size canvas, portability and unexpected results. Fun!
