Gust Infographic
Ever since I include the tangle Gust (Zentangle) into the Art Raffle app, I've been kind of obsessed with it. I decided to create a “Anatomy page” for it, a kind of an infographic including all the things that I thought were relevant to me to know about the tangle, including any successful tangleations that I had tried.
I created this 8x8 inch page over watercolor paper taking a somewhat “scientific” approach, meaning, adding the information I had uncovered in graphic and written representation. This included the step-out, the shading, different options, and weird tangleations. I LOVED MAKING THIS! It was a pleasure to create the infographic and I think it will be an EXCELLENT way to teach a class on how to explore a single tangle. Here are a couple of close-ups:

This week I tried something I’ve wanted to try for a long while: using one of my old pictures as a string. I printed a previous picture very lightly over thick watercolor paper and proceeded to tangle over it, using my new favorite shading technique with brown inks. The picture took several days to finish and I will confess that it was a little too large for my taste (tangled area measures 4.5x7 inches). That’s a LOT of tiny tangling! But I’m happy with the result.
