Gothic Tracery Class
What a GREAT class Art Clubbers and I had today using the tangle Well enhanced with Tracery! I love all my classes, but this one was REALLY special because of how it was inspired in historic architecture.
The term “Tracery”, according to Wikipedia, is an architectural device by which windows (or screens, panels, and vaults) are divided into sections of various proportions by stone bars or ribs of moulding.
We used the tangle Well (Zentangle) - which was originally inspired in a medieval design - to create a reticulum of sorts.
We used four enhancers to fill in the spaces:
Then shaded the line-art 3-dimensionally to create a hollowed effect:
Here’s the final picture after all was set and done:
Here’s another close-up:
And here’s a screengrab mosaic of some of the pictures my happy students made! Look at those beauties!
Feel free to pin or share these pictures!
A few weeks ago one my friends suggested a “skyline” string over a mass of water. I used mooka3d, Alfie (Angie Gittles), Nik (Bunny Wright) and Dillo-tant (Lisa Goldman). I wonder if the buildings are emerging or submerging? :-)
