My first live Zentangle® Workshop
Today I had my first live Zentangle® Workshop! My loveliest best friend Andrea hosted in the most beautiful outdoor patio. I couldn't have asked for a nicer setting for my debut! The class was given to a small group of "volunteer" guinea-pig friends, all lovingly willing to suspend disbelief and try to understand what I was so excited about.
Here the girls are hard at work, very concentrated:
I prepared a kit with materials for each one in a fun tin can:
I had a few frames prepared as "visual aid":
And here is their AMAZING mosaic!
The whole workshop lasted about 1:45 minutes, and we worked on one single beginner tile, using Crescent Moon (auras), Hollibaugh (drawing behind and contrast), Printemps (hand coordination with spirals) and Bales (grid pattern). The best part was seeing their faces of surprise at their own art, in discovering talents they didn't know existed!
As for me, I learned a few great lessons about teaching: I LOVED the results and the size of the group, but carrying the gear around proved to be a little too physical for me, so I must find a permanent even if much smaller setting in my own studio.
Thank you girls, I love you!
