Betweed Moonpie Star

About 12 days ago I participated in a CZT After Hours session conducted by Rashim “Dolly” Bhargava where we developed a star and filled it in with tangles. The project was in color, but I went a little rogue an made a black and white interpretation.

Tangles here: were Betweed, Verve (JJ LaBarbera) and Moonpie. I also added some Branching to some of the ribbons. Here’s a before and after shading:

The title of the post may sound strange, isn't all Zentangle intuitive? In this experiment I used a much more complex and intuitive string combined with a gray micron pen on two different pictures, with varied degrees of success. I came to an interesting conclusion, though.
