A mini tangle index

I'm back! I spent the last 12 days in an "unplugged" retreat, a lovely trip with friends where I promised not to use any internet or phone. It was amazing (and a little scary) to be completely disconnected.

Although I didn't draw as much as I thought I would, I want to show you a little project I prepared before going. Knowing that I would be disconnected, I wanted to take with me a sort of tangle index, so I could recall some of my favorite patterns.

Well, I have spent many hundreds of hours working on this album, and did not want to carry it with me in the fear of losing or ruining it. It has also become a bit too bulky for my purse.

Instead, I took pictures of the pages and arranged them in a "contact sheet" using Adobe Lightroom:

The images were printed slightly smaller than the originals, look at this picture for comparison:

I arranged the pages on the contact sheet so that they could be cut out in pairs:

I then folded each pair in half:

Then bunched them all together into a mini booklet:

To hold the booklet together, I stitched the pages together in the center with simple black thread, using a thick needle to make holes through all the pages:

It's a bit of a crude book, but one that I can easily carry in my purse or my wallet, measuring 2.5 x 2.5 inches. It's just large enough for me to remember different tangles and play with them without having to look up on my phone or tablet! And because it's just a print, I'm not afraid of losing or ruining it.
