Tangling Step-outs on Zoom
Given all that is happening, I needed to have a simple session with Art Clubbers. On Monday we had a very easy, long and relaxed session where we just explored tangles and tangle step-outs. I started by showing various different kinds of step-outs that I have, my books and tangle indexes. This one above is a print in 4x6 inches of a digital step-out I created on my iPad, featuring the tangle Plezo (Eni Oken)..
Next, we started to practice tangles and make step-outs. The first one was Zinger (Zentangle) and I showed clubbers how to create a version with more body so that it can be shaded.
Next we played with Pepper (Zentangle) and we spent a long time exploring the different ways to make it more 3-dimensional through careful shading.
We then explored Opus3D, a dimensional tangleation of the Opus tangle (Zentangle), which just begs for more shading.
And finally, we finished with Shattuck, a super fun and easy tangle that can be used in various ways and shaded to look dimensional as well.
The class was fun, and helped to relax — we stayed for a long time, about 2.5 hours, and had 40 plus participants. As usual, my online classes are included in my membership program Art Club. Learn more about it here.
