Wyfore Medallion
Still loving Wyfore and the Wyfore/Bronx Cheer hybrid. Here’s a medallion constructed with a few Wyfore tangleations. Here’s a mini step-out:
I don’t use a regular sketchbook like many artists do - I prefer to sketch loose ideas on my ipad using Procreate, then print it out into recipe cards. Here’s the sketch recipe card for this one.
This is obviously a planned, designed Zentangle-Inspired piece, not intuitive as classic Zentangle normally is. I feel that each type of drawing has its own pros and cons. On the plus side, designing your drawing can produce a very finished, polished tile; on the other hand, it lacks the spontaneity and surprise that classic Zentangle does. I love them both - but perhaps the intuitive classic Zentangle is my favorite these days, as I’m always surprised at the results, good or bad.

The gorgeous Tree of Life video class is now available at my shop for individual purchase. This is a two part advanced video class.
I am always surprised at what comes out of my pen when drawing intuitive art. I don't think this classifies as Zentangle, but it was drawn in the same intuitive and unplanned manner, other than wanting to use a couple of fragments I had drawn on my recipe cards.
Today Art Clubbers and I worked on Part 2 of the lovely Tree of Life ZIA project. We worked on the frame, background and shading.
Last Thursday Art Clubbers and I worked on Part 1 of the lovely Tree of Life ZIA project. We created the line-art for the tree branches, leaves and flowers. In Part 2 we'll work on the frame, background and shading.
I think we are all a little in love with Tomàs Padro's new tangle Medusa. Here I'm posting two simple tiles where I explored the shading and different ways to construct the underlying ogee grid. I suspect Medusa is going to appear more in my work very soon!
I had a blast making these two pieces combining Wartz (Genevieve Crabe) with Sinkhole and Spherify! The Art Raffle gave me this difficult combination, but it was a fun experiment and I'm super happy with it.
Two pieces with Hollis over a triangular string, sprouting from a fancy triangular fragment. One of them also plays with 3D cuffs over Wyfore. Fun!
Last week Art Clubbers and I had a Tangle Play session including Wyfore - where we explore tangles and make index cards - and I decided to combine it with Drawings over a triangular string. Very fun to play with!
I’m still incredibly inspired by project pack 20. In these images I combined Drawings and Myseliam (and some other stuff too). Can't get enough of these Blossom tangles.
A few weeks ago one my friends suggested a “skyline” string over a mass of water. I used mooka3d, Alfie (Angie Gittles), Nik (Bunny Wright) and Dillo-tant (Lisa Goldman). I wonder if the buildings are emerging or submerging? :-)
