Wartz Infographic
I'm still playing with the idea of Tangle Infographics. Here is a more compact version created on a 6x4 inch recipe card. I think I like this version a lot better than the larger size — even though the other one is more impressive, this one is a little more efficient and ends sooner, without any loss in the discovery process.
Here's a before and after shading:
I love how creating the infographic really promotes discovery of the different possibilities. This tangle was original deconstructed by Genevieve Crabe. As I try the different options, new alternatives and tangleation ideas come to mind. Very interesting process! The picture was created over hotpressed watercolor paper and shaded with colored pencils and watercolor pencils. Here's a close-up for you to inspect.

This week I tried something I’ve wanted to try for a long while: using one of my old pictures as a string. I printed a previous picture very lightly over thick watercolor paper and proceeded to tangle over it, using my new favorite shading technique with brown inks. The picture took several days to finish and I will confess that it was a little too large for my taste (tangled area measures 4.5x7 inches). That’s a LOT of tiny tangling! But I’m happy with the result.
