Spiral Bouquet Class

Yesterday I taught a fun class to my Art Club students. Another long class, packed with information.

This is a project that I had developed during the holidays and I loved the bouquet constructed over a spiral. First we developed the line-art using Eofer (Iris Heidt) and two Berry versions of Diva Dance (tangleations by Eni Oken).

We added a few more "flowers” including Bronx Cheer Berry (Zentangle) and Fishskirt (Eni Oken).

We then worked extensively on the shading:

Was super fun to make the spiral pop from the page in 3D:

The clubbers did a beautiful job with their bouquets!

Last Thursday Art Clubbers and I worked on Part 1 of the lovely Tree of Life ZIA project. We created the line-art for the tree branches, leaves and flowers. In Part 2 we'll work on the frame, background and shading.

I think we are all a little in love with Tomàs Padro's new tangle Medusa. Here I'm posting two simple tiles where I explored the shading and different ways to construct the underlying ogee grid. I suspect Medusa is going to appear more in my work very soon!

I had a blast making these two pieces combining Wartz (Genevieve Crabe) with Sinkhole and Spherify! The Art Raffle gave me this difficult combination, but it was a fun experiment and I'm super happy with it.

Last week Art Clubbers and I had a Tangle Play session including Wyfore - where we explore tangles and make index cards - and I decided to combine it with Drawings over a triangular string. Very fun to play with!
