Most of you know how difficult it is to find great ways to display your small miniature work, especially because square frames and plastic sleeves are not that easy to find. My tiles are all different sizes, some are official Zentangle® 3.x5 inch, some Bristol Smooth 4x4 or to 5x5 inches. It's difficult to find one size fits all album for sizes! Instead, I decided to enhance each piece by framing it in 8x10 mat (with a 5x7 inch opening). I have a lot of fun embellishing and adding fun little details around each mat.

Here is my album, which I've been working on since last year:

In case you're wondering, the white mats can be found here on Amazon.com.

Although I am far from being a scrapbooker, some of the techniques used to assemble this mat are derived from scrapbooking, such as using double stick tape to glue papers, and adding lots of layers for more interest.

I painted the inset of the mat with golden paint, and layered the tile on to pieces of paper (I particularly like using interesting papers with fibers). The tile itself is attached using photo corners which I have also painted using gold paint.

I like attaching the tile with photo corners because you can always take it off from the mat if you want to.

The paper looks like it's stitched -- it's not, it is just a white gel pen border.

And finally, I like to add tangles that are similar to the ones in the tile, but without too much shading, as a way to compare the line-art to the shaded version, and to not take away too much attention of the main attraction.
