Groovy Glow on the Dark
This week's challenge at the Shading Zentangle® facebook group is focusing on Groovy, a tangle deconstructed by Eden Hunt here, based on an ogee-grid. For those of you who don't know, "ogee" is an architectural term which means "having a double continuous S-shaped curve".
There are several tangles which follow an ogee grid such as A-fog (stepout here) and Fluxogee (stepout here).
Here is my version of Groovy, combined with Ixorus (turned out too much like Crescent Moon) and Cockles n Mussels on the right. I like how all the tangles have lines and they because sort of integrated into each other.
Here is the original string:
And here is the completed line-art before shading:
And another view of the final picture, after shading my unique Glow on the Dark technique for shading on black tiles:
By the way, the Glow on the Dark ebook is almost ready! Just a few more touches and it will be ready this weekend. I've heard so many tanglers and CZTs saying they cannot wait to learn this technique, to find joy in shading over black tiles. It's the "missing link" in Zentangle shading ;-D
Catch you later this week!
Update June 24, 2016: The ebook is here! Also called "the missing link" in Shading Zentangle: http://enioken.com/3dtangle/glowonthedark
