Fantasy Florals
This is a project that was sitting in one of my “Project boxes” for a very long time. I finally sat down and completed it! And I found out that, although I like the result very much, creating it was tricky, I felt that it didn't quite promote flow, perhaps because each petal is totally different than the next. To me, repeating a tangle or pattern is KEY for the development of “flow”, that wonderful state of being you get into when you make art.
Here's the step-out:
These flowers are inspired by Crewel embroidery, a type of embroidery I used to enjoy doing when younger, and now I remember why I stopped it. I still like looking at the results. The goal is not to be realistic, but to create something which resembles over the top florals.

One more Flower Pop-up card. I guess it was the recent Mother's day that prompted me to create so many flower cards. I'm not quite done with them yet. I created a mockup of the card first to see if the mechanism would work the way I wanted. The decoration is a mix of Mooka, Diva Dance and Tipple.
