Baby Blue and Purple Embroidery #40

This is intuitive embroidery #40. I used a lot of couching: felt strips, lace strips and also some strips of fabric I made using Julia Wright’s super fun binding tutorials. I’m still in the fern motif, can’t seem to get enough of it. Maybe because it reminds me of my mother, she has a fantastic green thumb for ferns.

Here is a work-in-progress, after couching and attaching quite a bit of strips. I also used some rattail cord (a silky round cord).

Here is the final piece after finishing all the stitching. I used some blocking pins leaving it to dry overnight (thanks to the suggestion of my friend Marina) and the piece turned out flat as a board! Amazing!

And this is it, at last here is the piece half attached to a fabric purse.
