Bailarine Abstract Art
Continuing the abstract art work over ink/watercolor-prepared papers, this one features Bailarine and Fishskirt (my own two tangles) and Snail (Zentangle). Here’s the art raffle card:
I love the way that Bailarine turned out so organic, so much like some kind of living being. Here are a couple of close-ups:
It's fun to follow the super random lines of the inked background. Here’s another view.

The gorgeous Tree of Life video class is now available at my shop for individual purchase. This is a two part advanced video class.
Continuing my abstract work, I finished this one featuring Bailarine and Fishskirt (my own tangles) over ink-prepared papers. I love how weird this turned out!
This is what I've been up to during my holiday, abstract tangled art over super bold black and white inked background. Very different from my usual work, but I'm loving the power of black and white and the layered effects.
Today Art Clubbers and I worked on Part 2 of the lovely Tree of Life ZIA project. We worked on the frame, background and shading.
Last Thursday Art Clubbers and I worked on Part 1 of the lovely Tree of Life ZIA project. We created the line-art for the tree branches, leaves and flowers. In Part 2 we'll work on the frame, background and shading.
I think we are all a little in love with Tomàs Padro's new tangle Medusa. Here I'm posting two simple tiles where I explored the shading and different ways to construct the underlying ogee grid. I suspect Medusa is going to appear more in my work very soon!
I had a blast making these two pieces combining Wartz (Genevieve Crabe) with Sinkhole and Spherify! The Art Raffle gave me this difficult combination, but it was a fun experiment and I'm super happy with it.
Two pieces with Hollis over a triangular string, sprouting from a fancy triangular fragment. One of them also plays with 3D cuffs over Wyfore. Fun!
Last week Art Clubbers and I had a Tangle Play session including Wyfore - where we explore tangles and make index cards - and I decided to combine it with Drawings over a triangular string. Very fun to play with!
More abstract work over watercolor paper. I used Bilt (Lisa Skeen), African Artist (Tina Hunziker) and Zentwining (Lynn Mead). I’m really enjoying the tangle Bilt - reminds me a bit of Betweed, but in a different way.
