YOJ 2005 Week 41

The theme this week is "Wildlife", and the only wild thing about this pendant is how much the beads cost: these are opaque rubies, combined with unusual dark pink tourmalines and little faceted garnets. I had bought the rubies a while back and was just aching to use them with gold filled wire and vermeil.

It reminds me a bit of Indian jewelry, with all the rubies and gold, but with more of an organic streak. The pendant measures 1 3/4 by 1 1/2 inches, not including the bail length.
