Wine and Tangles
Here's a project that I developed for a birthday party — ended up not happening — so I thought that this was just too cool to let go and converted it into a video lesson. Essentially, instead of tangling with a string, we tangle inside a wine-marked circle. Here are the two samples I created:
What I REALLY like about this project is that, regardless of the dimensional effect, it's still considered an easy/intermediate project, especially the shading, which is time consuming but basic. Here is the original project created for the party, which uses the essential tangles of a classic Zentangle 101 class:
You can see that the difference between these and the new ones is the super cool spherical distorted grid in the center. I LOVE that fish-eye effect. Here are two close-ups:
