I love all things marine, so I was tremendously inspired by Maria Thomas' picture describing an ancient marine being found in a mysterious aquarium (Zentangle's Mosaic app). 

Maria's tile shows a very ornate tangleation of the new tangle Spoken, which is a sort of hollibaugh in circular, radial fashion. I did try to start the same way, but the tile quickly took a life of its own, with single Mooka tendrils, Paizley (introduced by Angie Vangalis) and other weird scrolls:

Something about this Renaissance tile just keep begging to be antiqued, which I did with distress inks and pan pastels.

Here is the final picture, with some hollibaugh in the background and dingbatz in the corners. It SOOOO TOTALLY REMINDS me of a Treasure map!
