Featured Ruutz!
Guess what? The Ruutz tangle (stepout here) and my latest art tile were featured this week at the "Square One Focus" on the Square One Purely Zentangle® Facebook group (visit here)! My own shading FB group often mirrors their focus tangle on a weekly basis, so not only do we get to play with Ruutz all week, but best of all.... My tile was presented by the little robot man -- don't you just love this?! Thank you Chris Titus and Drew A. Tangle!

More about this tile:
This tile started as a sort of monotangle, where the tangle itself is the string:
I don't know why, but since coming back from Seminar 23, I'm spending a lot more time on the inking portion of the tile, just enjoying adding all those details:
Here's the final picture with the shading:
This is a classic "Mama and her babies" type composition where a very large element is surrounded by smaller ones. Combined with some well placed shadows, you can get amazing 3D depth. Obviously that is not the "technical term" for this type of composition, LOL, I just made that up! However, the strategy is real and often used by artists to convey depth.
Another point of view:
Other tangles aside from Ruutz are Snails, Shattuck, pearls and some random stripes.
I hope you enjoy the focus of this week, and thanks again, Chris, for the opportunity to participate in such a meaningful way in a group I already enjoy so much!
