Distressed Joki in Pink

Combining two challenges in one: Joki (Kim Aarts) is the tangle of the week at the Shading Zentangle facebook group, and distressed tiles -- a month long challenge on how to create these colorful babies. 

I'm really happy with this one! It started on a distressed tile that was rather light, so I didn't expect much of it. Here is the partial line-art:

The tangles used were: Marasu (Zentangle), Drupe (Zentangle), Joki (Kim Aarts), Zanholli (Sandra Strait). Here is a close-up for you to inspect:

What about the very LARGE empty area on the right side? I'm glad you asked. I was toying with an idea today and want to share it with you. I might add it to the large empty section on the right of this tile, if I'm brave enough.  

STRING ART!

I tested it on this tile below, and I liked the results: 

Especially when the string art is made with GOLD thread.... Super cool.... 

I'll keep you posted if it works out.
