Crazy, crazy Zingo
I was just completely moved by the adorable Indy and Mazzy teaching how to draw their "Zingo" tangle in the video posted by Zentangle, Inc a couple of weeks ago, and I promised that at some point I would play with it.
I created the basic Zingo shapes using a Xeno "Fude" pen, a micro brush pen which can produce lovely line width variation in a single stroke. Here's the beginning of this tile:
Normally I use a string, but I really didn't think too much about it, and when I realized I had forgotten to add the string, I just went along.
I then proceeded to add tiny detail with a Micron 005:
Here's the final tile after an insane amount of detail added with the micron 005 and shading added only lightly with a 4B pencil:
As a self-constructive critique, I feel that I could have a bit more contrast but the piece is so detailed and crazy, I'm not sure I want to touch it anymore. Here are a couple of close-ups of the tile:
