Bucky and Friends Class Part 2

Today Art Clubbers and I had Part 2 of the ultra advanced Bucky and Friends Phi tile class. In this part we completed the line-art by adding drama, adding cracks and distress, and also background.

Mostly, we worked on the shading. We started with Patakón (Oswaldo Burbano Sandoval):

Next, we shaded the Pickpocket Ribbon (Tomas Padros):

We shaded Ratoon, Amaze and Bucky (Zentangle) very dramatically:

And then Wyforwings:

Here’s the final piece completed after we added background too:

This is what the Clubbers did! What an AMAZING job!

Last Thursday Art Clubbers and I worked on Part 1 of the lovely Tree of Life ZIA project. We created the line-art for the tree branches, leaves and flowers. In Part 2 we'll work on the frame, background and shading.

I think we are all a little in love with Tomàs Padro's new tangle Medusa. Here I'm posting two simple tiles where I explored the shading and different ways to construct the underlying ogee grid. I suspect Medusa is going to appear more in my work very soon!

I had a blast making these two pieces combining Wartz (Genevieve Crabe) with Sinkhole and Spherify! The Art Raffle gave me this difficult combination, but it was a fun experiment and I'm super happy with it.

Last week Art Clubbers and I had a Tangle Play session including Wyfore - where we explore tangles and make index cards - and I decided to combine it with Drawings over a triangular string. Very fun to play with!
