3DTangle: Shading Nia Tutorial
Shading Zentangle with a 6B pencil is fun!
I thought that shading with 6B pencil was no longer possible using Zentangle, in such small sizes. I was wrong! Not only it is possible, it's SUPER fun. The graininess of the pencil produces a texturized effect that is so bold and intricate at the same time.
I was exploring the tangle Nia (which is heavily inspired by Egyptian style and deconstructed by Suzanne Davis here). Suddenly the boldness of the line-art inspired me to use the 6B pencil and a thicker pen, AND WOW! It turned out to be so much fun.
The pencil gave it So much texture!!!
Since I record almost every step of a tangle using my camera, I decided to create a tutorial (and it's at the right price too).
The tutorial comes with templates for you to complete, just in case you want to start shading right away.
